Chapter Commissioning - USS Diamondback
Region 3 is proud to announce the commissioning of the USS Diamondback, with Noble Hays as Commanding Officer and Clark Trainham as Executive Officer. The ceremony was conducted at Belles Chicken Dinner House in Abilene, Texas, following a day of fun-filled games at Region 3 Game Day. Belles food was delicious! After a wonderful meal, the support chapter, the USS Lone Star, and a few other ships of the region gave gifts aplenty to the Diamondback for completing their shakedown cruise and becoming a fully commissioned ship of the third fleet. The Region thanks crewmembers of the Diamondback, Lone Star, and Battle Born for the hospitality that we were shown during our Game Day and during the celebration (Donna Jarrett makes wonderful cake!). Diamondback members, we wish you calm seas and fair winds at your back. We will definitely see you all in the future!

Chapter Commissioning - USS Zavala
Region 3 is proud to announce the commissioning of the USS Zavala (formerly known as the USS Daedalus), with Captain Penelope McFadin commanding. Following the Region 3 Trip to NASA Space Center in Houston, the ceremony was conducted at Noah's Ark Bar & Grill in Bacliff, Texas. After a wonderful meal, the ships of the region gave all of the pomp and circumstance they could muster to the Zavala for successfully completing their shakedown cruise and becoming a fully-commissioned ship of the fleet.
We thank the Zavala and her crew for the hospitality we were shown during our visit and during the celebration, and offer our encouragement on the road that lies ahead.
IC2013 Announcement
We are proud to announce that the STARFLEET International Conference in 2013 will be held in Zone 1 of Region 3, at the MCM Elegante Hotel in Dallas, Texas. The event is scheduled for August 1-4th, 2013, and more information will be published as soon as it becomes available. ATTENTION Region 3: It is time to launch another chapter-in-training based out of Houston, Texas – The USS Daedalus.
The CO is Wallace "Ace" Cady and the XO is Penelope McFadin. They can be reached at the daedalus alias.
Vessel Class/Type: Stealth/Cloaked (Unknown to the RC at this time LOL)
Registry: NX-/NCC-100101 (NX- during shakedown)
The USS Daedalus is a Meeting chapter now in its Shakedown Cruise. The official launch date is January 23, 2011. The Support Chapter is the USS Sinclair from Region 13, commanded by BGN Joe Sare. This chapter has qualified for the Accelerated Shakedown Program, so it's commissioning will be set for September 17, 2011. Save the Date for this is the Date of our Regional Trip to the Johnston Space Center in Houston, TX (More information when known).

Registry: NX-/NCC-74224 (NX- during shakedown)
The USS Diamondback is a Meeting chapter now in its Shakedown Cruise. Many of the members are from the 501st, so don't be surprised if more Stormtroopers show up to Summit. The official launch date is December 17, 2010. The Support Chapter is the USS Lone Star commanded by Lisa Pruitt. Mike Tolleson, our Regional ShOC officer also had a hand in rounding these members up. Mike and Lisa, thanks for both for your help in getting a chapter in Abeline.
