Simply put, Region Three is a compilation of all the members and chapters of STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc. within the states of Texas and Louisiana. But Region Three is much more than that.

STARFLEET Region Three is also the embodiment of Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future known as "Star Trek". Between new chapters (known as "shuttles" or "outposts"), to existing chapters ("starships" or "space stations"), to each individual member, Region Three works towards that future with its charity work and community service, recreational events, communication and education, camaraderie of its members, and just plain fun.

STARFLEET chapters in Region Three span from Amarillo to Corpus Christi and Baton Rouge to Shreveport, covering Texas and Louisiana.

At each Region Three Annual Summit we choose a specific charity to benefit. In year's past we have benefited the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, a Tornado Relief Funds in Texas, the Seeing Eye-Dog Program, the Brazos County Animal Shelter and the International Exotic Feline Sanctuary.

Also, many of the individual chapters of Region Three support their own charities, with a diversity ranging from Public Broadcasting pledge drives to visiting hospitalized children, Special Olympics, Adopt-a-Highway, battered women's shelters and so on.

Region Three strives to remain on the cutting edge with World Wide Web pages (like this one), a Region Three Internet Mail Server, and Internet mailing lists , but also offers a bi-monthly regional newsletter known as "Fleet Channels."

Fleet Channels features reports from the individual Region Three Chapters, members of the Regional Staff, upcoming and on-going events both in Region Three and in Star Trek fandom in general, and other news which may be useful to chapter staffs and individual members alike.
